Tim Butler, Senior Fellow on the faculty of HBS and Director of Career Development Programs at the School will be in Hong Kong next month and has kindly offered to lead a workshop on "Developing Your Career Vision".  The workshop will be held in the late afternoon and will be followed by a reception for participants to get to know each other and Tim better.

In this workshop we will explore the way in which we come to understand what needs to happen next in order for our careers to remain challenging and satisfying.  Career transition can be initiated by external events beyond our control or internally by a sense that we are no longer growing professionally or fully engaged in our day-to-day work.  In either case, that which "needs to be lived next" in our lives presents itself first as intuition and imagination.  In this 1½ hour workshop, we will learn a powerful approach to sharpening our intuition and imagination and then analysing this intuitive and imaginative data so that we can look its implications for changes in work role, organisational culture, industry, and work/life balance that are necessary for us to move forward.  The workshop will involve lecture and experiential work in small groups.

Dr Butler's has taught for executive education programs and lectured at business schools throughout North America, Europe, and Asia and has consulted to senior managers from organisations ranging from small technology start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations and has written many articles and a number of books on career development.

RSVP:  Please email secretariat@hbsahk.org ASAP to secure a seat at this workshop.  Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but please note that HBS alumni will be given priority over guests if the event is over-subscribed.  Reservation is by payment of non-refundable event fee.  This is a private event, and participants are requested to respect the confidentiality of the views and opinions expressed.  For enquiry, please contact us at secretariat@hbsahk.org.
